This game is a lot of fun. I play the campaign whenever I need to kill time. My only problem: I can kill the campaign with maybe 2-3 hours of gameplay. It isnt that long, but if you can find a way, it can be really long.
PROS:
-FUN REMOTE CONTROLLED MACHINES
This option comes out early in the campaign. You are able to control basically a surveillance/flying mine mini helicopter, a decent sized mini tank with a machine gun so big it can destroy cover in just a few shots, and a mini attack helicopter with rockets that can take down a tank with 2 volleys.
-GOOD WEAPONS
The actual weapons in the game are pretty sweet, my personal favorite is the support gunner, with a 200 round mag. The sniper rifle is pretty nice, but it takes 2 hits in the body to kill, one in the head obviously.
-VEHICLES
They don't give you a lot: Just a rapid fire, low power tank, an actual tank, and a helicopter. You can commandeer a russian tank, but thats about it. But in the multiplayer, it all opens up to a wider spectrum of vehicles.
-GAMEPLAY
The story is epic. Its also simple: The Russians and Chinese vs The U.S. and most of Europe battling for control of the oil industry.
My personal favorite mission is the Mountain King.
-TURRETS
When they do provide you with a turret or a fixed gun, its always in a good spot, or they just give you one that you can set up. In the one mission you get a set minigun and a type of Lazer that can kill a tank in 2 shots or even one if you hit it from the back.
CONS
-AI FRIENDLIES
The friendly AI are of a seriously lower power than you. It takes them 2 mags on the normal assault rifle to kill one enemy.
-LIMITED AMOUNT OF CLASSES
In the campaign ( this entire review is about the campaign) you can only use certain classes in certain missions, like in the end mission, you can only use Sniper, Anti-Vehicle and Assault, and trust me, you can really use the support class in that one.
-FAIL FRIENDLY AI SENTRIES
You at one point in the end of the game get 2 AI sentries to set up to help you. They dont even shoot half the time.
It takes them 10 seconds to realize that there is an enemy in front of them, meanwhile enemy sentries shoot as soon as you are in range ( 1 seconds recognition delay) but at least they make a great wall of metal if you are ever in a tight spot, I line them up and go prone and shoot in the gaps between them.
OVERALL
A great game to kill time with the campaign. I can't say anything about multiplayer except that your options really open up then, because your teammates actually do damage. It is also a great game to hone your FPS skills, as you are in many situations the only one fighting the enemy while others just run around and shoot blindly. Its really a game for beginner FPS players and anyone looking for a fun, easy game to just plug a couple rounds into the enemy. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the friendly AI are really bad and the limited amount of vehicles. IN CONCLUSION, it is a great game that really shows its potential in the multiplayer arena.
